A tragic accident has left the family of a 17-year-old girl in mourning after she fell 30 feet to her death while hiking Utah’s Moab Rim Trail.
The teen, whose name has not yet been released, was hiking with friends when she fell from the trail and died from her injuries.
According to her boyfriend, the teen had the “brightest smile” and was an avid hiker.
“She was always so full of life and had an infectious energy,” he said.
The Moab Rim Trail is a popular hiking destination in Utah, and is known for its stunning views and challenging terrain.
The teen’s friends and family are now left to grapple with the sudden and tragic loss of a beloved young woman.
“She was an amazing person who was taken from us too soon,” her father said.
The accident is still under investigation, but it is believed that the teen slipped and fell while navigating a particularly steep and rocky part of the trail.
The tragedy serves as a reminder to hikers to stay safe and be aware of their surroundings while out on the trails.
