85-Year-Old Woman Tragically Killed by Alligator in Florida Retirement Community

An 85-year-old woman from Florida has been killed by a 10-foot alligator while walking her dog in a retirement community.

The incident occurred in St. Lucie County, Florida, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was walking her dog in the area when the alligator attacked her.

The attack happened at a lake on the property of the retirement community, and witnesses reported seeing the alligator “lurking at the bottom of the lake,” according to WPBF West Palm Beach.

The FWC is currently investigating the incident and has cautioned people in the area to be aware of the potential danger of alligators.

The tragedy has shocked the community, and the woman’s family and friends are mourning her loss.

“It’s a terrible tragedy,” said a neighbor of the woman. “We are all in shock and our hearts go out to her family.”
