Alabama Woman Reported Missing After Spotting Toddler Walking on Highway

An urgent search is underway in Alabama for 25-year-old Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell, who went missing after making a distressing 911 call. Russell had reported seeing a toddler walking alone on the side of Interstate 459 in Alabama at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the Hoover Police Department, Russell stopped her car to check on the child and contacted a family member to inform them of the situation. However, contact with Russell was lost during the call, even though the line remained open. Concerns escalated when police arrived at the scene and found Russell’s vehicle and some of her belongings, but neither she nor the child were present.

Authorities have not received any additional reports of a missing child, making the search even more puzzling. One witness did report seeing a man outside Russell’s car, along with a grey vehicle, but limited information is available about these individuals.

In an effort to expedite Russell’s safe return, an anonymous donor is offering a reward of $20,000, while Crimestoppers of Metro Alabama is contributing an additional $5,000. The Hoover Police Department has committed to exhaust all resources in their investigation.

Lieutenant Daniel Lowe of the Hoover Police Department stated in a press conference, “We are leaving no stone unturned in investigating these facts.” The authorities are tirelessly reviewing evidence, following leads, and pursuing all available avenues to locate Russell.

Family, friends, and community members have joined forces, spreading the word about the missing woman through social media and local networks. Detectives are urging anyone with information about Russell’s whereabouts to come forward, as even the smallest detail could be crucial in aiding the investigation.
