Brittney Griner Returns to W.N.B.A. with One-Year Deal with Phoenix Mercury

According to multiple reports, WNBA star Brittney Griner has signed a one-year deal to return to the Phoenix Mercury.

Griner, a 6-foot-9 center, was the first overall pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft and has spent her entire career with the Mercury. She was the league’s MVP in 2014 and has been a six-time All-Star.

The Mercury have made the playoffs in each of the last five seasons, and Griner has been a key part of that success. She has averaged 16.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game in her career.

Griner’s return to the Mercury is a major boost for the team, which has struggled in recent years. She will join a talented core of players, including Diana Taurasi, Skylar Diggins-Smith, and Bria Hartley.

The Mercury will be hoping that Griner can help them make a deep run in the playoffs this season. With her on board, they have a real chance at making a championship run.
