CONYERS, GA – A chemical plant fire near Atlanta on Sunday morning led to evacuations, posing a potential threat to residents in the area. The incident occurred at the BioLab plant in Conyers, where a sprinkler malfunction initiated a hazardous chemical reaction, as reported by Rockdale County Fire Chief Marian McDaniel.

McDaniel stated that despite a small fire breaking out on the roof, it had been contained, with no further issues reported at that time. However, the removal of the chemical material and water source from the building was underway, as communicated during a press conference on Sunday.

Authorities refrained from disclosing the specific type of chemical involved in the incident but urged individuals to seek shelter and remain indoors due to the rapidly evolving situation.
