On Tuesday night, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard put on an historic performance, scoring a career-high 71 points while going 13-for-25 from beyond the arc in a 123-111 win over the Houston Rockets.
The performance was the highest single-game scoring performance in the NBA this season, and the second-highest scoring performance in Trail Blazers franchise history. It was also the fifth-highest scoring performance ever by a guard in NBA history.
Lillard was simply unstoppable, leading the Blazers to a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter. He scored 23 points in the first half and then added 48 in the second half, including an incredible 24 points in the fourth quarter. He also added eight assists, four rebounds and two steals in the win.
The Rockets were led by John Wall, who scored 29 points, and Christian Wood, who had 24 points and eight rebounds.
