Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi has been granted a temporary restraining order against a male stalker, aged 61. The actor filed the request in Los Angeles court on Tuesday alleging that the stalker had been harassing him for months by showing up at his home and sending him letters. The restraining order prohibits the stalker from coming within 100 yards of Elordi and his home.
According to TMZ, the stalker had previously been warned by police to stay away from Elordi. However, he continued to show up at the actor’s residence, including on one occasion when the stalker reportedly entered Elordi’s property by climbing over a fence.
Elordi, who gained fame as the love interest of Zendaya’s character in HBO’s Euphoria, has not commented publicly on the matter. His representatives also declined to comment.
Stalking is a serious issue that affects millions of people every year. According to the National Center for Victims of Crime, one in six women and one in 17 men have experienced stalking at some point in their lives. Stalking can have a profound impact on a victim’s emotional and physical wellbeing, and it can escalate into more serious crimes, such as assault or murder.
Elordi’s situation highlights the importance of taking stalking seriously and seeking help when necessary. Victims of stalking should document all incidents of harassment, notify law enforcement, and consider seeking a restraining order. Support and resources are available through organizations such as NO MORE and RAINN.
