The iconic star of the 1960s and 1970s died on Thursday, according to a statement from her family. She was best known for her roles in the films “Fantastic Voyage,” “One Million Years B.C.,” and “The Three Musketeers.”
Welch was also a model, appearing on the cover of Playboy magazine in 1972 and gracing the pages of Vogue in the 1960s.
The actress was praised for her strong and powerful personality, and her rarely tapped gift for comedy. She was also known for her beauty, with USA Today calling her a “sex symbol” of the 1960s.
Welch is survived by her four children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.
