In a major victory for the U.S. Department of Justice, the notorious ransomware gang known as ‘Hive’ has been shut down following the FBI’s seizure of the group’s website.
The FBI’s action was part of an operation that included ‘hacking the hackers’ to gain access to the group’s servers, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The ransomware gang had been responsible for numerous cyber-attacks in recent years, including a major attack on the Colonial Pipeline in 2020.
