Green Bay, Wisconsin – Former President Donald Trump made a grand entrance as he descended from his Boeing 757 airplane bearing his name. Amidst a rain-soaked tarmac, Trump made his way to a white garbage truck also proudly displaying his name. Trump’s attention-seeking display was in response to a perceived insult from his successor, President Joe Biden, that seemed to characterize Trump’s supporters as garbage.
Dressed in an orange and yellow safety vest, Trump quipped sarcastically about the garbage truck being in honor of Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden. The former president took advantage of comments made by a comedian at a recent rally, disparaging Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage,” to further denounce his Democratic opponents.
After landing in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for a speaking engagement, Trump engaged with reporters fro the passenger seat of the garbage truck. Trump’s attempt to distance himself from the controversial comedian’s remarks fell short as he failed to denounce the remarks or issue apologies. Despite a statement from a spokesperson claiming the joke did not reflect Trump’s views, the former president himself did not address the issue directly.
During his appearance from the garbage truck, Trump expressed his affection for Puerto Rico, affirming that the territory loves him. As he concluded his brief interaction with reporters, Trump cheekily thanked them for experiencing the garbage truck display. Later, as he took the stage for his event, Trump continued to wear the orange vest, maintaining his playful approach to the situation.
