WALDORF, MD – Authorities in Charles County are intensifying the search for Lesbia Mileth Ramirez Guerra, 23, who has been missing since late March. Guerra, a mother of two, was last seen on March 31, and the circumstances of her disappearance have prompted deputies to consider the possibility of foul play.
Guerra’s boyfriend, who is the father of her children, has become a person of interest in the investigation after he was detained by federal officials for allegedly being in the country illegally.
His detention occurred shortly after deputies executed a search warrant at the couple’s home, resulting in the discovery of counterfeit immigration documents, according to the sheriff’s office.
The timeline of events reveals an unusual sequence tied to a red Toyota 4Runner belonging to Guerra’s family. The vehicle was seen being moved from the front to the back of the residence on April 1, according to Diane Richardson, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. Law enforcement has labeled this movement as both “unusual and suspicious.”
Authorities are seeking public assistance in tracking the 4Runner’s movements between March 31 and April 2. Investigators are particularly urging anyone with surveillance or wildlife camera footage from this period, especially from rural or isolated areas, to come forward, as these records might hold critical clues.
The investigation has ramped up since April 2, the day Guerra’s boyfriend reported her missing. Despite this step, deputies have yet to identify any suspects. Still, Richardson has disclosed that the boyfriend remains a key figure in the investigation due to his recent legal issues and proximity to the case.
The community response has been one of concern and sorrow, as friends and acquaintances of Guerra highlight the impact of her absence. A friend, Wilson, expressed his anguish and hope for her safe return, emphasizing the emotional toll on Guerra’s family and especially her young children.
Detectives continue their efforts to gather more information and urge anyone with details related to Guerra’s disappearance or who might have seen the 4Runner to contact the Charles County Crime Solvers. As the search presses on, the community holds its breath for answers.
