JPMorgan Chase has sued former executive Jes Staley over his alleged ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The civil lawsuit, filed in a Manhattan court, claims that Staley had a personal and business relationship with Epstein even after the financier had pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008. Staley, who now serves as the CEO of Barclays, has denied the allegations. In a statement, JPMorgan said it had launched an internal probe into the matter and had taken steps to enhance its policies and procedures related to Epstein and similar issues. Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking minors.
