2023 Writers Guild Awards Winners Announced

The 2023 Writers Guild Awards took place on Saturday night in Los Angeles, honoring the best in writing for television, film, and new media. The ceremony was held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The winners were announced live throughout the evening, with the list continuously updating as each category was announced. Some of the big winners of the night included “Succession” for Best Drama Series, “Ted Lasso” for Best Comedy Series, and “The Crown” for Best Episodic Drama.

In addition to the television awards, awards were also handed out for Best Original Screenplay, which went to “Belfast,” and Best Adapted Screenplay, which went to “The Power of the Dog.”

The ceremony also included special awards for Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Achievement in Writing Diversity.
