Dadeville, Alabama – A mass shooting at a birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama has left five people dead and multiple others injured. The shooting happened during a Sweet 16 party on Saturday night.
According to eyewitnesses, four gunmen entered the party and immediately began shooting. The victims were mostly children, including the birthday girl. The youngest victim was just six years old.
Police received numerous calls about the shooting and arrived on the scene within minutes. The gunmen had already fled the area. Paramedics treated several of the victims on the spot before transporting them to the hospital. Sadly, five people lost their lives, while 15 others were injured.
Authorities have yet to identify any suspects or motive for the attack. The police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
The shooting comes less than a week after another mass shooting in Dadeville on Wednesday, in which four people were killed and others were injured. In that incident, the gunmen opened fire on a public park in broad daylight. No suspects have been arrested in that case either.
The shootings have shocked the local community, and officials have pledged to find those responsible. Governor Kay Ivey has called for increased cooperation between law enforcement agencies to tackle the rising number of gun violence cases in the state.
