A massive fire erupted in East Palestine, Ohio on Saturday morning after a train derailment. According to reports, 50 train cars were involved in the incident.
The fire caused a thick plume of smoke that could be seen for miles. As a result, local officials issued an evacuation order for the village and urged people to stay away from the area.
Norfolk Southern, the freight railroad company that operated the train, has set up a family assistance center in East Palestine to help those affected by the derailment and fire.
The cause of the derailment is currently under investigation.
