San Francisco, CA – With less than a month to go before its official launch, Google is beginning to unveil its Pixel 9 series. A recent hands-on leak showcases the Pixel 9 Pro XL, featuring a new Samsung modem and a generous amount of memory.
In April, details emerged about the Pixel 9 Pro series, revealing an upgrade in storage and RAM. The leaked images displayed the device with 128GB of storage and a significant boost to 16GB of RAM. This increase in memory capacity was a first for any Google Pixel device. Additionally, reports indicated that the device would be equipped with an updated Samsung modem, the Exynos 5400.
Further confirmation of these details came with another hands-on leak on XDA forums. The leak revealed an early version of the Pixel 9 Pro XL, codenamed “komodo,” featuring 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. While it remains unclear if this configuration will be the base model, the appearance of both 128GB and 256GB variations suggests that Google may be outfitting all models with ample memory.
The leak also provides evidence of the device using the Exynos 5400 modem, as seen in the “baseband” section. This modem, based on the latest 3GPP Release 17 standard, promises maximum data throughput of 14.79Gbps. Key features include satellite support and a 4nm process, aligning with Google’s focus on AI capabilities.
Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 9 series officially on August 13, unveiling the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This release follows the company’s recent teasers, hinting at the innovations and improvements in store for the latest iteration of the Pixel lineup.
