Suspicious Death Investigation Underway in Antioch: Authorities Seek Public Assistance

Antioch, California – Authorities in Antioch responded to a distressing scene on the morning of May 15, 2024. Police officers were called to the 2200 block of Country Hills Drive to assist the Contra Costa Fire Department after receiving reports of a man lying on the sidewalk in need of medical attention. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a male who had suffered blunt force trauma.

According to the Antioch Police Department, no gunshot or stab wounds were found on the individual. Sadly, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The circumstances surrounding his death remain uncertain, marking the third suspicious death in the area this year. An investigation has been launched by the Antioch Police Department’s Investigations Bureau, with Crime Scene Investigators and detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit spearheading the inquiry.

The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office. Authorities have refrained from disclosing further details at this time, as the investigation is ongoing and active. The deceased male’s identity has not been released publicly.
