HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Authorities are searching for a 47-year-old man accused of killing both of his parents inside their east Harris County home last month, and warn he should be considered dangerous.

Christopher Leman Jr. became the focus of the homicide investigation after his parents, Christopher Leman Sr., 75, and Mary Leman, 73, were discovered at their residence in the 10500 block of Crosby Lynchburg Road on July 11. The incident came to light after a concerned family member requested a welfare check, telling deputies he had not heard from the couple.

Deputies responded to the call around 5:30 p.m. and found the elder Leman dead from a gunshot wound in the living room. His wife, Mary, was also inside the home with severe head injuries. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was initially expected to recover, but died from her injuries two days later.

While initial reports indicated that both victims may have suffered gunshot wounds, authorities later clarified that Mary Leman had a significant head laceration and did not appear to have been shot. The residence stands about half a mile from the main road, surrounded by dense vegetation, emphasizing the secluded nature of the property.

Investigators processed the scene and followed several leads that led them to identify Christopher Leman Jr. as the primary suspect. He is now wanted for capital murder, a charge that could result in the death penalty if he is convicted under Texas law.

Christopher Leman Jr. remains at large, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office has warned the community to be vigilant, describing him as a potential danger. As of Friday morning, authorities had yet to determine his whereabouts and urged anyone with information to come forward immediately.

The killings have stunned neighbors and relatives who remembered the Lemans as quiet retirees. The investigation has provided little detail about a possible motive, and officials have not elaborated on what evidence directly ties the couple’s son to the crime.

Forensic teams continue to gather information from the scene while deputies canvass the area and reach out to possible acquaintances of the suspect. Law enforcement has stepped up patrols in the area and is working with broader regional networks in hopes of tracking down Leman Jr. quickly.

Major Anthony McConnell of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office described the deaths as particularly tragic, noting the Lemans were a retired couple likely looking forward to their later years.
