Mother kills three children and injures two after CPS visit in Texas

A mother allegedly stabbed her five children at their Texas home, killing three and injuring two, after the family received a visit from Child Protective Services (CPS). The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in Italy, Texas, and left the community in shock.

According to sources, the mother, named as Junaid Mehmood, was angered by the visit from CPS and lashed out at her children. She reportedly used a knife to attack them in their bedrooms. When police arrived at the scene, they found three children dead and two critically injured.

The two injured children were rushed to hospital, and their condition is currently unknown. Mehmood was arrested and charged with capital murder. She is currently being held on a $2 million bond.

The tragedy has left the local community reeling. Italy Independent School District Superintendent Lee Joffre said in a statement: “Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in our Italy ISD family and the Italy community.”

The CPS has not commented on the case, and it remains unclear what prompted the visit to the family’s home. The investigation is ongoing.
