A tragedy has struck the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, February 17th, a Temple University police officer was fatally shot while responding to a crime near campus.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the officer was shot in the head while attempting to stop a carjacking in North Philadelphia. The officer, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fox News reports that the officer was killed in the line of duty near the Philadelphia campus. Dallas Morning News reported that a Dallas police officer was arrested on suspicion of DWI on the same day.
NBC 10 Philadelphia reported that the Temple University Police Officer was shot and killed in the line of duty.
