Ty Pennington Receives Intensive Care Treatment After Attending Barbie Premiere

Ty Pennington, former host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, took to Instagram to reveal that he had been admitted to the intensive care unit. This happened just days after attending the highly anticipated Barbie premiere in Los Angeles.

Sharing his experience, Pennington explained that he had been intubated in the hospital due to an abscess in his throat. This abscess had started to close off his airway, resulting in breathing difficulties. He accompanied his post with several photos, including ones of him lying in a hospital bed as well as pictures from the premiere.

From the red carpet at the Barbie premiere to the ICU, Pennington expressed his gratitude for the care he has received and reassured his followers that he is currently recovering. He detailed how he attended the Barbie premiere on Sunday, flew to Colorado on Monday to start filming, and then woke up on Tuesday unable to breathe. He mentioned that his persistent sore throat over the past month turned out to be a large abscess that obstructed his airway, leading to his intubation and subsequent transfer to the ICU.

After undergoing surgery, Pennington was released from the ICU the following day, offering his appreciation to the staff at St.Anthony’s in Lakewood, CO, and Summit Health in Frisco for their exceptional care. He urged everyone to pay attention to their bodies and listen to any warning signs.

Ty Pennington was just one of the many stars who graced the pink carpet at the Barbie premiere alongside the film’s cast, including Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Michael Cera, and Kate McKinnon. Directed by Greta Gerwig, the Barbie movie is set to debut in theaters on July 21.

In addition to attending the premiere, Pennington was there to promote HGTV’s upcoming four-part series, Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge, in which he competes. Hosted by Ashley Graham, the series is scheduled to premiere on July 16.

Ty Pennington’s health scare serves as a reminder to prioritize self-care and listen to our bodies. Despite the interruption to his schedule, Pennington remains positive about his recovery. As he continues to heal, his fans and followers have expressed their well-wishes and support during this challenging time.
