UN Calls for Withdrawal from Ukraine as Six Countries Join Russia in Opposing UN Resolution for Peace

The United Nations has called for an immediate withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine. This comes as a result of a vote in the UN General Assembly, where a resolution was passed calling for peace in the region.

The resolution, however, was met with opposition from Russia and six other countries. These countries have sided with Russia in opposing the UN’s resolution for peace in Ukraine.

In response to the UN’s call for an immediate withdrawal, the EU has issued a statement on the General Assembly vote on the UN Charter and Ukraine. The statement calls for all parties to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The situation in Ukraine remains tense, with both sides accusing each other of escalating the conflict. It remains to be seen what action will be taken in response to the UN’s call for an immediate withdrawal.
