USWNT Wins SheBelieves Cup, But Questions Remain Ahead of World Cup

The United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) won the SheBelieves Cup on Sunday, February 22, 2023, with a 2-0 victory over Brazil. Goals from Alex Morgan and Mallory Swanson were enough to secure the win for the USWNT.

The USWNT won all three of their matches in the tournament, but their performances left questions for the World Cup, which will be held in June 2023. The USWNT’s victory over Brazil was the first time they had beaten the South American side in the SheBelieves Cup.

Japan also had a successful tournament, snapping a skid with a 3-0 win over Canada.

The USWNT’s victory was the culmination of a tournament that saw some great performances from teams around the world. Highlights from the USWNT’s SheBelieves Cup finale included some great saves from goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher and some good offensive work from Morgan and Swanson.

Despite the USWNT’s victory, questions remain about their ability to compete at the World Cup. The USWNT will be looking to improve their performances and prove themselves as a top contender for the tournament.
