“Vikings Make History: Brian Flores Signs on as Defensive Coordinator!”

The Minnesota Vikings are making a big move to their coaching staff, hiring Brian Flores as their new defensive coordinator.

Flores, who spent the last 15 years with the New England Patriots, was most recently the team’s linebackers coach. He has extensive experience in the NFL, having served as the defensive play-caller for the Patriots’ Super Bowl-winning defense in 2018.

The Vikings have been searching for a defensive coordinator since the departure of George Edwards in January. Flores will take the helm of a defense that ranked near the bottom of the league in 2020, allowing the second-most points per game.

In other news, the Carolina Panthers have reached a deal with Ejiro Evero to be their new defensive coordinator. Evero was the defensive backs coach for the Denver Broncos last season, and he has experience in the NFL and college as a defensive coordinator.

The Broncos, meanwhile, are looking to fill their defensive coordinator position, and Sports Illustrated suggests five coaches who could join Sean Payton in Denver, including former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett and former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo.

The Vikings, Panthers, and Broncos all have their eyes on the same goal: improving their defenses in 2021. With Flores, Evero, and potential new coaches joining Payton in Denver, the NFL could be in for some exciting defensive showdowns in the upcoming season.
