Witness the Spectacular: Kansas Night Sky Lit Up by Small Swarm of Meteors!

Residents of Kansas were left in awe late last night as a small swarm of meteors lit up the night sky.

The event began shortly before 11 PM as the first of the meteors appeared in the sky. Residents quickly began to take notice as the sky lit up with a dazzling display of shooting stars.

The meteor shower lasted for over an hour, with an estimated 60 to 80 meteors visible in the sky. Witnesses described the event as a “once in a lifetime experience”.

Astronomers speculate that the meteors were part of the annual Geminid meteor shower, which typically peaks in mid-December.

The meteor shower was visible over a large portion of the state, with people from all across Kansas sharing their photos and videos of the event on social media.

The event was a welcome distraction for many, providing a brief respite from the worries of the world. As one witness put it, “It was a reminder that there is still beauty in the world, even in these dark times.”
