Woman asks witnesses to tell police that her fiance stabbed himself to death even though she had the knife

APPLETON, WI – A woman from Wisconsin has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the chest during a tragic incident in July. Samantha Jean Krebs, 39, is accused of killing her fiancé, J.J.C., in their Appleton apartment, according to court documents.

Krebs, who has a history of convictions for various offenses, was apprehended following the disturbing events of July 18. Witnesses J.R.P. and C.L.C. walked into the apartment expecting a casual night of games but instead found J.J.C. bleeding on the kitchen floor with Krebs standing over him. The male witness recalled the shock of the scene, expressing his disbelief with an expletive.

According to the criminal complaint, Krebs pleaded with her friends to tell the police that J.J.C. had stabbed himself because she feared returning to prison. One of the witnesses reported that Krebs appeared regretful and claimed that she couldn’t go back to prison, a sentiment she repeated multiple times before leaving the scene.

Krebs’ criminal history reveals numerous convictions from 2011 to 2022, including offenses related to battery and possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. These past offenses have painted a troubling picture of her history with the law.

As the witnesses called for medical assistance, Krebs reportedly kissed J.J.C. and expressed her love for him in her final moments at the apartment. She eventually left in a vehicle without license plates, authorities noted. Krebs then allegedly went to the home of another witness, J.F.H., who had previously assisted J.J.C. with V.A. benefits and mental health treatment. When confronted by the police, Krebs insisted she had witnessed her fiancé take his own life.

During the investigation, officers discovered handwritten notes in Krebs’ residence that detailed her emotional state and future plans. The notes reflected her distress over J.J.C.’s death and her concerns about potential imprisonment. One note suggested she recently bought a dress for their court date and described her disbelief over the tragic event.

Krebs’ account of the incident in the notes claimed that she did not realize the severity of the situation until it was too late, and she describes J.J.C. holding his side, bleeding profusely. The unfolding circumstances have left many questions about what exactly transpired that fateful night.

Krebs faces a $1 million bond as she awaits further legal proceedings. This recent homicide charge adds a severe notch to her already extensive criminal record, and the case continues to develop as more details emerge from the investigation.
