Eleven people are dead and several more injured after a mass shooting in Monterey Park, California. The shooting occurred on the evening of January 22nd and left many in shock.
A vigil was held for the victims in Monterey Park and a suspect was arrested in Half Moon Bay. The suspect has not been identified.
One of the survivors, a man who disarmed the shooter, spoke out about the incident. He said, “Something came over me and I knew I had to do something.”
The tragedy has sparked a discussion about America’s gun control policies and their failure to prevent mass shootings.
