2-year-old Pennsylvania boy beaten to death by dad’s girlfriend who Googled how to hide bruises

SPRINGHILL TOWNSHIP, PA – A Pennsylvania woman is in custody, charged with the murder of her boyfriend’s 2-year-old son, following an investigation that uncovered concerning internet searches related to bruises and unconsciousness.

Brianna Rufina Bloyer, 30, faces a homicide charge after authorities allege she inflicted fatal injuries on Bentlee Myers, who succumbed to his injuries on August 19 after being declared brain dead at a local hospital.

According to the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office, the incident unfolded on August 16 when another adult found Bentlee unresponsive at Bloyer’s home on Old Lake Lynn Road. The adult had discovered that Bloyer had not called emergency services despite being aware of the child’s critical state.

The unidentified person who discovered Bentlee called 911, describing him as having blue-tinged skin and not appearing to be breathing. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Bentlee could not be saved. Medical examinations revealed extensive bruising and severe internal injuries, with the cause of death determined to be cardiac arrest due to head trauma.

Bloyer told investigators that Bentlee had been in her care for about two weeks. On the morning of the incident, she claimed he seemed disoriented and fell before losing consciousness.

Searches conducted by police on Bloyer’s phone revealed internet queries focusing on addressing unconsciousness and bruising. These searches included looking up “how to get someone to come to when you pass out” on the day of the incident, and over a week earlier, “why am I so much more angry while pregnant” and “what better to make bruises fade overnight.”

Authorities highlighted the absence of a 911 call from Bloyer’s phone on the day Bentlee was injured, adding to suspicions about her role in the tragedy. The boy’s father was reportedly unaware of Bentlee’s bruises but mentioned to police that Bloyer seemed agitated when around the child.

Bloyer failed to attend a scheduled interview with investigators in late September, after which her car was spotted as far away as Indiana and Arizona. Her recent capture has led to her being held without bail at the Fayette County Jail.

As the legal proceedings move forward, Bloyer is expected to face a preliminary hearing to answer to the charges on November 20.
