Seven people were killed and one was injured in a mass shooting in Half Moon Bay, California, on Tuesday. The suspect has since been taken into custody.
The shooting occurred just days after another mass shooting in California, leading many to mourn the victims of both tragedies.
According to a statement from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. local time. The suspect was taken into custody shortly thereafter.
Local and state leaders have spoken out about the tragedy, calling it a “horrific reality”.
The victims of the shooting have yet to be identified. The investigation is ongoing.
