Pop singer Aaron Carter’s cause of death has been revealed as drowning, according to various sources. TMZ reports that the autopsy revealed he had ingested Xanax and was huffing, which led to his drowning in a bathtub. The coroner’s report also revealed that Carter’s death was accidental.

Carter passed away at the age of 29, five months ago, in his home in Los Angeles. At the time of his death, his family and friends believed he had died of a drug overdose. However, they later issued a statement urging the public not to jump to conclusions until the medical examiner’s report was released.

Carter’s brother Nick, a member of the Backstreet Boys, took to Twitter to express his grief. “My heart is shattered,” he wrote. “We are at a loss for words. We love you Aaron.”

Carter rose to fame in the late 90s and early 2000s with hit songs like “I Want Candy” and “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)”. However, in recent years, he has struggled with mental health and substance abuse issues.
