AMC theater stabbing, four girls aged 9 to 17 among victims; more victims

BRAINTREE, MA – A horrifying stabbing spree unfolded at AMC Braintree 10 when a man, suspected to be Jared Christian Ravizza, attacked multiple girls with a knife on Saturday. In an unprovoked stunt, the assailant targeted victims between 9 and 17 years of age before leading authorities on a high-speed pursuit that concluded on Cape Cod.

The incident at the movie theater erupted around 6 p.m. when the suspect bypassed the ticket counter, stormed into a screening room, and stabbed the young girls before fleeing in an SUV. The victims, while seriously injured, were expected to recover after hospitalization.

The violence spilled over into Plymouth, where an attack was later reported at a McDonald’s inside the Route 3 Park and Ride. There, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man suffered injuries from a similar slashing incident.

Law enforcement agencies leaned on surveillance footage capturing the suspect’s vehicle license plate, issuing an alert for his capture. State Police were quick on the trail, identifying the suspect’s vehicle in Sandwich. An attempt to stop the suspect escalated into a chase, ending dramatically with the vehicle crashing and catching fire. The suspect was apprehended and required medical attention.

As the community reels from the assaults, questions linger about the motive behind the brutal attacks. The suspect remains in custody as State Police and local law enforcement piece together the events that led up to the day’s violent spree. The chaos is seemingly connected to further sinister events, as officials linked the assault in Braintree to a death investigation in Deep River, Connecticut, though details of this association remained under investigation.
