ADAMS COUNTY, PA — In a troubling case of animal cruelty, a 27-year-old Pennsylvania woman has been taken into custody by the Carroll Valley Borough Police Department. Upon responding to a call at a residence in Carroll Valley Borough, officials discovered two severely malnourished dogs and the bodies of three deceased cats.

The Adams County SPCA intervened, bringing in veterinarians to assess the situation. The veterinarians reported that the dogs, weighing only 36 lbs each, were in a dehydrated state with one dog suffering from conjunctivitis. Shockingly, both canines had a body condition score of one, which is dangerously close to death.

The arrest of Allison Anne Ost was made on charges of animal cruelty and neglect following the grim discovery. Ost, who turned herself in, was swiftly taken for arraignment at the Adams County Booking Center. Meanwhile, the three deceased cats were transported to Harrisburg for further examination through autopsies.
