Anniversary of Unsolved Mount Dora Couple Murder Still Haunts Community

MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Three years have passed since the tragic murder of a Mount Dora couple, Ken and Tina, who were fatally shot during a robbery at their convenience store, T & N Marketplace.

Kheim Ba Trinh, 56, and 47-year-old Minh Nguyen, owners of T & N Market in Mount Dora, were confronted in the store’s parking lot before being forced back into the store, where they were both shot. Surveillance video captured the gunman, dressed in all black, rapidly approaching Ba Trinh and pushing both victims back into the store before tragically shooting them.

The couple, who left behind two children, have been dearly missed by their loved ones. Despite the Mount Dora police having persons of interest in the case at one point, no arrests have been made in connection to the murder. In 2020, police released video footage from the couple’s final moments, hoping that someone might be able to identify the voice of the perpetrator.

Three years after the devastating shooting, T & N Market continues to struggle. Although a new business briefly opened in the store’s space, it has since closed. Heavy locks now adorn the front doors and windows of the once-thriving store.

Mount Dora Police have announced a $10,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in this case. Individuals with relevant information are urged to contact Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

In conclusion, the senseless murder of Ken and Tina at T & N Marketplace in Mount Dora three years ago continues to haunt the community. The lack of closure for the victims’ families and the store’s struggle to regain its footing serve as a painful reminder of the unresolved tragedy.
