Arrested: 33-Year-Old to be Charged with Murder in Nashville Ramada Inn Shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 33-year-old man is expected to face charges in connection with the murder of a woman at the Ramada Inn on Music Valley Drive. Metro Nashville police reported that the suspect, Delano Lamar Allen, was apprehended overnight on unrelated charges.

According to authorities, the shooting took place around 6 p.m. Monday, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old Nashville woman. While her identity is still being confirmed, officials have confirmed that the victim was fatally shot in the hotel’s parking lot.

Police officers discovered the victim’s body after responding to reports of a shooting at the Ramada Inn. They determined that an altercation between Allen and the victim, who are believed to be acquainted, led to the deadly encounter.

Following the shooting, Allen was seen heading towards a blue Mercedes sedan as it entered the parking lot. Shortly after a gunshot was heard, the vehicle was observed fleeing the scene. Based on information gathered at the site, officers identified Allen as a potential suspect.

Later in the evening, Allen was engaged in a confrontation at a motel on Murfreesboro Pike, where he attempted to steal a pickup truck using a shovel as a weapon. Despite resisting arrest and assaulting police officers, Allen was eventually taken into custody. Subsequently, the abandoned Mercedes was located in a ditch on Antioch Pike.

Delano Lamar Allen is now facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide, attempted vehicle theft, assaulting police officers, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia. MNPD has confirmed that Allen and the victim were acquainted prior to the deadly incident.
