VICKSBURG, Miss. – An 18-year-old man, Perrion Johnson, has been apprehended in Texas and extradited to Mississippi to face charges of murder and other offenses in connection with a shooting incident that resulted in the death of 22-year-old Preston Wilson Jr. in Vicksburg.
According to Vicksburg police, the shooting took place on July 18 near the intersection of Cherry and Harrison streets. Johnson fled to Austin following the incident, but was arrested on November 8 and brought back to Mississippi.
During a court appearance before municipal Judge Penny Lawson, Johnson was issued a bond of $4 million. In addition to the murder charge, Johnson also faces allegations of drive-by shooting, three counts of aggravated assault, and shooting into an establishment.
The police have been investigating the case diligently, and Johnson will now have to face the legal proceedings in Vicksburg.
