CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. – A man from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin has been sentenced to jail for assaulting his girlfriend. The 26-year-old man, who had pleaded guilty in June to charges of domestic abuse, received the sentencing in Chippewa County Court. The incident took place in May, and the man was arrested after the girlfriend reported the assault to the police.
According to court documents, the man had hit his girlfriend multiple times, resulting in injuries to her face and head. The man admitted to the assault and expressed remorse for his actions during the court hearing.
The judge sentenced the man to serve 60 days in jail and 3 years of probation. In addition, the man will have to attend anger management classes and undergo a domestic abuse assessment. The judge also ordered him to have no contact with the victim and to pay the costs of her medical treatment. The victim was present during the hearing and gave a statement to the court about the impact of the assault on her.
