At least one person has died and four have been injured following a machete attack at two churches in Spain.
The attack occurred on Sunday at the El Salvador and San Roman Catholic churches in the southern Spanish town of Palma del Rio. According to police, a man wielding a machete entered the churches and began attacking people inside.

The motive for the attack is still unclear, however police are investigating a possible link to terrorism.
The victims of the attack have not yet been identified, however the local mayor has expressed his condolences and offered support to those affected.
This is the latest in a series of machete attacks in Spain over the past year. In June of last year, a man was arrested after a machete attack at a church in Seville left four people injured.
