At least 28 people have been killed and nearly 150 injured in a suspected suicide attack at a mosque in Pakistan’s Peshawar.
According to reports, the blast occurred in the middle of a crowded mosque in the city’s Dir Colony area. Witnesses said they heard a loud explosion and saw smoke rising from the mosque.
The Pakistani Army has confirmed that the blast was a suicide attack. The death toll is expected to rise as many of the injured are in critical condition.
The attack has been condemned by the Pakistani government and Prime Minister Imran Khan. He has called for an immediate investigation into the incident.
The incident has also been condemned by leaders around the world, including US President Joe Biden who has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
