At least 34 people were killed and nearly 150 wounded in a suicide bombing attack at a mosque in Pakistan’s Peshawar on Wednesday.
According to Reuters, the attack targeted police officers who were attending a funeral service inside the mosque. The blast killed at least 19 people and injured 70 others.
The attack was carried out by a suicide bomber who detonated his explosives inside the mosque, according to WION. The attack left the mosque in ruins and caused extensive damage in the surrounding area.
KHOU 11 reported that the death toll is expected to rise as rescue teams search through the rubble.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but police are investigating the incident.
