At least six people have been killed and three others injured in a horrific crash between a bus and a box truck in upstate New York.
The crash occurred on Sunday morning in Coles Creek, located in the St. Lawrence County. According to the New York State Police, the bus and the box truck collided head-on.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has already been dispatched to investigate the crash.
“It was a gruesome scene,” said St. Lawrence County Sheriff Ryan Reardon. “The impact of the crash was so great that it caused both vehicles to be completely destroyed.”
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification of their families.
The cause of the crash is still unknown and authorities are still trying to determine if any other factors may have played a role in the tragedy.
