Attorney Delivers Shocking Revelations in New Book on John Wayne Gacy

Chicago, Illinois – A former attorney for notorious serial killer John Wayne Gacy is shedding light on the case in her newly released book, “Killing Time with John Wayne Gacy: Defending America’s Most Evil Serial Killer on Death Row.” Gacy, known as the Killer Clown, was executed 30 years ago for the murder of at least 33 teenage boys and young men in the Chicago area. The bodies of his victims were discovered buried beneath his house.

Karen Conti, Gacy’s former lawyer, shared some undisclosed details about the case in her book. Reflecting on her experience with Gacy, Conti mentioned that despite his gruesome crimes, she did not sense any evilness in his presence. She described Gacy as affable, glib, engaging, and intelligent – traits that allowed him to deceive others and evade suspicion.

Conti recalled her initial curiosity about meeting Gacy, considering him to be the “epitome of evil” and a notorious figure in Chicago. Despite the chilling reputation associated with Gacy, she found him to be a seemingly normal individual. As a young lawyer at the time, Conti was tasked with representing Gacy in his death penalty appeals towards the end of his legal battles.

Having grown up in Chicago, where Gacy was viewed as the “boogeyman,” Conti felt compelled to confront the man behind the heinous crimes that had haunted the city. She detailed her interactions with Gacy, highlighting his superficial charm and deceptive facade that enabled him to commit his brutal acts without raising suspicion.

The release of Conti’s book coincides with the 30th anniversary of Gacy’s execution, bringing renewed attention to one of the most chilling cases in American criminal history. Through her account of Gacy’s legal proceedings and interactions with him, Conti provides readers with a glimpse into the complex and disturbing world of defending a notorious serial killer.
