Saturday night’s episode of Saturday Night Live was a star-studded affair with host Aubrey Plaza joined by a surprise video appearance from President Joe Biden.
Plaza opened the show with a monologue, poking fun at her own acting career and her current role in the movie Black Bear.
The show then took a turn for the nostalgic when Amy Poehler joined Plaza to reprise their roles from the beloved NBC show Parks and Recreation. The pair recreated their characters Leslie Knope and April Ludgate, respectively, in a skit that had the audience in stitches.
The show ended with another surprise appearance, this time from President Biden. Biden made a brief video appearance to urge viewers to get vaccinated and to thank Plaza for her hosting duties.
Plaza’s episode of SNL was widely praised, with The Guardian calling it a “standout cameo-packed episode.” It was a night of laughs and nostalgia, and a reminder of the power of comedy to bring us all together.
