Bob’s Stores to Close All 10 Connecticut Locations – Everything You Need to Know!

Ansonia, Connecticut – All Bob’s Stores locations in Connecticut will be closing this month, with the parent company confirming that all inventory will be liquidated in the coming weeks.

The final day of operation for Bob’s Stores is set for July 14, as going-out-of-business sales have already commenced at all remaining open stores. Customers can expect discounts ranging from 30 to 70 percent off on various items, as stated in the going-out-of-business announcement.

For customers holding gift cards or merchandise credits, the company has assured that these will be honored until the close of business on July 14, with no exchanges possible after that date. This decision comes after Bob’s Stores was unable to secure the necessary finances to sustain its operations, leading to the filing of bankruptcy protection on June 18.

“We regret that our financial position necessitated the liquidation of Bob’s Stores. Bob’s has been a stalwart of our local communities for nearly 70 years, and we know our customers remember us as having been there for major moments in their lives,” said Dave Barton, president of Bob’s Stores.

Layoffs at Bob’s Stores began in late May, with the announcement of the first round of store closings in early June. As the company continues to wind down its operations, all Bob’s Store locations will be closed, and their inventory liquidated.

A longer list of affected locations was released, including stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island. In light of these closures, the company’s website is currently under construction, with plans to offer an online shopping option in the future for customers.

The closure of Bob’s Stores marks the end of an era for a retailer that has been a fixture in local communities for decades. Despite the challenges faced, the company expresses gratitude to its vendors, suppliers, customers, and employees for their support over the years.
