HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Authorities have released a photo of a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a Washington County Circuit Court judge at a residence in Hagerstown. The shooting occurred on Thursday evening, prompting deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to respond to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered Judge Andrew Wilkinson, 52, in the driveway with gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect, identified as Pedro Argote, 49, is now being sought by law enforcement. A description accompanying his picture states that he stands at 5’7″ tall, weighs 130 lbs, and has black hair and brown eyes. Records from the Washington County Circuit Court show that Argote had a divorce case before Judge Wilkinson, and a hearing regarding the matter took place earlier on the same day as the shooting.
