“Bruce Willis Faces Cruel Reality of Frontotemporal Dementia Diagnosis”

Actor Bruce Willis, known for his roles in movies such as Die Hard, has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The diagnosis was confirmed by his family in a statement released on Wednesday.

FTD is a rare form of dementia that affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, resulting in changes in behavior, language, and personality. Willis’ family said he has been experiencing symptoms for some time, including aphasia (difficulty with language) and changes in behavior.

“It is an incredibly cruel disease and we ask for privacy and compassion as Bruce and our family face the challenges ahead,” the statement said.

The Associated Press reported that Willis’ condition has been deteriorating, and his family is now preparing for the long road ahead.

“We are immensely grateful for the love and support Bruce has received from his fans all over the world,” the family said.

The actor is also receiving support from his former co-stars. Actor Samuel L. Jackson, who worked with Willis in the movie Unbreakable, said he was “saddened” to hear the news.

“My thoughts and prayers are with Bruce and his family during this difficult time,” he said.

Willis is just one of an estimated 50,000 people in the United States who are living with FTD. There is currently no cure for the disease, but treatments are available to help manage symptoms.
