Case Update: Sacramento Detectives Still Investigating Raven Labit’s 2018 Murder

Sacramento County, California – The case of Raven Labit, whose remains were discovered in the Mokelumne River in Isleton in early 2018, continues to be a haunting mystery for Sacramento detectives. The 22-year-old’s body was found in a bag by a teenager fishing off the docks of Lighthouse Sports Bar and Island Pizza.

Homicide detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Labit fell victim to a violent homicide, although the exact details of her murder remain undisclosed due to the sensitive nature of the investigation. Labit had moved to Sacramento in November 2017, with her last contact with family recorded in January 2018. Detectives are aware that she was alive for some time after January 2018 but cannot pinpoint when she was killed.

Detectives suspect that Labit may have been involved in human trafficking, as she was known to frequent areas like Stockton Boulevard and Watt Avenue. Using aliases such as “Alexa” and “Amore,” Labit’s movements across different cities indicated a potential link to a human trafficking circuit in California.

Labit’s family revealed that she had been dating a man post-high school and had a child with him in an attempt to make ends meet. Detectives believe that Labit fell prey to exploitation within the realm of human trafficking. Despite years passing since her murder, authorities are still actively investigating the case, hoping for a breakthrough with technological advancements and public cooperation.

Labit’s father, Rich Labit, remains cautiously optimistic about the possibility of solving his daughter’s murder. He urges anyone with information to come forward and assist the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office in finding closure in Raven Labit’s case.
