Chicago Memorial Gathering Turns into Deadly Shooting, Leaving 1 Dead and Multiple Injured

Chicago, IL – Over the weekend, the city of Chicago once again saw multiple acts of violence. The most recent incidents have left at least eight people killed or injured.

On Saturday night, a gathering in honor of a man killed in a car crash turned deadly after gunfire erupted. According to ABC News, seven people were shot with one fatality.

The following day, a similar memorial gathering in a different neighborhood also ended with gunfire. As reported by CNN, a woman was killed and six others were injured during the incident.

In yet another shooting, WGN News reports that seven people were shot in the Austin neighborhood on Sunday, with one person being pronounced dead at the scene.

WLS-TV reports that chaos erupted in the 4800 block of West Iowa Street on Sunday as shots rang out, leaving one dead and six wounded. The incident was caught on camera.

Fox News reports that the gathering in which the shooting occurred on Saturday was to honor a man killed in a car accident four years ago.

The recent wave of violence in Chicago has once again highlighted the issue of gun violence in the city and brought renewed attention to the need for action to prevent such incidents in the future.
