TAMPA, Fla. – A construction supervisor was fatally stabbed at a construction site in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of a suspect by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place around 8:30 a.m. at the Easthaven Complex, where a new townhome construction site was located. The victim was found with upper body trauma and was rushed to Tampa General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to investigators, the victim was working in a townhome under construction when he was attacked and stabbed multiple times. Co-workers reported hearing the victim’s cries for help before he was taken to the hospital.
The suspect, 34-year-old Ja’Quan Glymp, was arrested for his involvement in the murder. He is accused of dressing as a construction worker and attempting to commit a robbery, leading to the fatal attack. Signs of a struggle at the construction site and the victim’s missing belongings being found in Glymp’s vehicle indicated a robbery had taken place.
Glymp is facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder while engaged in a robbery, and is being held on a bond set at half a million dollars. Investigators are also working to identify other potential suspects in the case.
