Damian Lillard Shines: Nets 60 Points in Blazers’ Win Over Jazz

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard put on a show Wednesday night, scoring a season-high 60 points in the team’s 137-122 victory over the Utah Jazz.

The 60-point performance was the fourth of Lillard’s career and the second-highest total of the season, behind only James Harden’s 61-point game earlier this month. Lillard also set a new career-high with 11 three-pointers, and his 60 points were the most by a Trail Blazer since Kiki Vandeweghe scored 61 in 1984.

The game was close throughout, with the Jazz leading by four points at halftime. But Lillard took over in the second half, scoring 33 points in the third quarter alone to help the Blazers pull away. He finished the night with a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line and added seven assists and four rebounds.

Lillard’s performance was praised by his teammates and coaches, with head coach Terry Stotts saying, “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a better performance. He was just spectacular.”

The Blazers now sit at the top of the Western Conference standings with a 24-11 record, and Lillard’s performance against the Jazz showed why they are one of the top teams in the league.

With the win, Lillard and the Blazers will look to continue their winning ways as they head into the second half of the season.
