The Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz went head-to-head on January 25, 2023 and Damian Lillard was the star of the show. Lillard went off for 60 points, leading the Trail Blazers to a 134-124 victory.
It was Lillard’s fourth career 60-point game, and he shot an impressive 20-for-32 from the field. He also added seven assists and four rebounds to his stat line.
The other Trail Blazers starters contributed to the win as well. Robert Covington scored 19 points, CJ McCollum had 16 points, and Jusuf Nurkic and Enes Kanter each had double-doubles with 16 points and 11 rebounds and 12 points and 10 rebounds, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Jazz were led by Donovan Mitchell who had 33 points and seven assists. Jordan Clarkson scored 22 points off the bench and Rudy Gobert had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
It was a back-and-forth affair with the Trail Blazers leading by as much as 16 in the first half and the Jazz leading by as much as seven in the fourth quarter. But Lillard took over in the final minutes, scoring 12 points in the last three minutes to seal the win for Portland.
The Trail Blazers are now 2-0 on the season and the Jazz drop to 0-2. The two teams will meet again on April 5th.
